An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Head Chef to join us at the Gerrard Arms in Aspull, Wigan.
We are looking for a head Chef that has a more hands on role that will take on duties that a Sous Chef would normally handle. As Head Chef you will oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchens and be able to manage, lead, motivate and develop the team.
Responsibilities will include menu planning, managing the financial KPI's enabling business success, purchasing, health and safety including food hygiene procedures.
You will have previous experience working as part of a fast paced, quality driven, culinary team, at Head Chef Level, ideally within a reputable establishment.
Key duties & responsibilities will include:
• Ensuring that kitchen staff adhere to quality, hygiene and cleanliness standards
• Staying up-to-date with culinary trends and kitchen processes
• Dealing with suppliers and ensuring that they supply quality goods at affordable prices
• Managing the inventory and ordering stock as needed
• Overseeing the maintenance of kitchen equipment and organising repairs when needed
• Developing new dishes and overhauling menus to attract more clientele
• Ensuring that guests receive excellent service and enjoy their culinary experience
The successful candidate will have:
Catering and Hospitality qualifications
Food Hygiene qualification and be able to demonstrate best practice.
Relevant experience from industry with leadership and management skills

Job Title: Restaurant/Bar Supervisor

Reports to: General Manager
Salary: Negotiable (depending on experience)
Job overview
We are looking for a Restaurant/Bar Supervisor to join our Front of House team here at the Gerrard Arms in Aspull.
Being a Supervisor comes with many additional responsibilities that allows you to lead and motivate other team members, ensuring that our customers receive the best service possible in all areas necessary and to ensure the business is as successful as can be.
You will also support the General Manager and assist in the day to day operational running of the pub, ensure high standards of hygiene, health & safety and ensure staff are fulfilling their duties.
The Ideal candidate would have:
Experience working in a fast paced, busy environment
Hands on approach
Have an eye for detail
Have excellent customer service skills
Closing & locking up
Cashing up
Cellar management
Have previous experience in Hospitality
Previous bar experience is essential
Supervisor experience (not essential but preferred)
Driving licence (not essential but preferred)
